We cordially invite all visitors to the vernissage of our new special exhibition “𝐄𝐏𝐈𝐏𝐇𝐀𝐍𝐘” with painting, object and installation by Anamaria Avram –
on Wednesday, May 15 at 7 pm in the gallery in the Sacred Museum!

Leipzig-based artist Anamaria Avram has long been known for her enigmatic, surrealistic, allusive paintings and sculptures, which she often creates
over long periods of time using the old master’s technique. At the same time, however, these illusionistic pictorial worlds are repeatedly interrupted
by abstract and expressive bursts of color – and this play with contrasts results in numerous exciting starting points, perspectives and stories.

The special thing about the exhibition “𝐄𝐏𝐈𝐏𝐇𝐀𝐍𝐘”: it was conceived especially for the Sacred Art Museum! Inspired by the works of art in the permanent exhibition – above all the carved hand reliquaries, the omnipresent golden stars and the elegant and profound radiance of the color dark blue – they take up motifs from our historical sacred artworks and enter into a dialogue with their surroundings.
Consequently, this time we are not only showing the works in the gallery space, but also directly in the permanent exhibition in St. Annen’s Church.
